Safe at Unwind

To our devoted community of friends, clients and staff,


Your health and wellness are our highest priority. In order to ensure the safety of our staff, clients and community, we have implemented the following protocols that meet or, in many cases, exceed DC Department of Health guidance for personal service establishments.

Staff are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times, including laundered medical scrubs and KN95 or ASTM Level 1 masks as well as face shields while performing treatments.


Clients are required to wear appropriate face coverings while in common areas of the spa. As needed, clients may remove or adjust their face coverings during treatments. Our front desk staff will be happy to provide complimentary face masks to clients that do not have one.


Clients are asked to wash or sanitize their hands upon check-in. Hand sanitizer is readily available throughout the spa.  Upon request, front desk staff will provide complimentary bottles of Purell hand sanitizer to clients.


Before the start of every shift or at appointment check-in, everyone will have temperature and symptom screening, including the following - 

  • Since your last day of work or last visit, have you had any of these symptoms that are not attributable to another condition?
    • Fever
    • Chills
    • Cough
    • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing 
    • Fatigue
    • Muscle or body aches
    • Sore throat
    • Unexplained loss of taste or smell
    • Headache
    • Congestion or runny nose
    • Nausea or vomiting
    • Diarrhea
  • Have you recently been in contact with anyone who has developed these symptoms or tested positive for the coronavirus? 

Anyone who screens positive or develops symptoms will be refused entry and/or sent home for isolation and advised to seek appropriate medical care immediately. If a client feels unwell or develops any symptoms within 12 hours of an appointment, the cancellation charge will be waived, as the health and safety of our clients and staff is our priority.


Clients will be taken to treatment rooms immediately after check-in – waiting for appointments is not allowed and physical distancing will be enforced in all common areas. Staff break rooms are to be used by a maximum of two people at a time. Additionally, we have limited the number of guests in our spa in order to allow for physical distancing.


Sanitizer stations with EPA-approved disinfectant and hand sanitizer are in all treatment rooms and throughout the spa. Our sanitizer stations are equipped with disinfecting and sanitizing products that are EPA-approved for use against the COVID-19 virus.


Unwind is professionally cleaned daily. Linens, wraps and towels are professionally cleaned after a single use. 


Staff are utilizing an additional single-use disposable medical grade protective sheet between the treatment table and all laundered linens.


Air purifiers are in all treatment rooms and other areas in the spa. We use only medical grade H13 HEPA air purifiers that remove 99.97% of particles down to 0.1 microns. Our medical grade air purifiers clean 500sq ft in just 30 minutes.


Front desk staff sanitize all high-touch areas at least hourly. High-touch areas include all door knobs and handles, light switches, hand railings, bathroom and kitchen sink handles, toilet flushes, payment devices and the front desk itself.


Time between appointments has been doubled to allow staff to perform thorough treatment room sanitizing, including disinfecting face shields, handles, door knobs, treatment equipment and head rests as well as replacing disposable medical grade protective sheets and fresh linens for each client. 


 

Tea and water are always available upon request.


Contactless check-in, check-out and payments are carried out whenever possible.

 We strive to make Unwind safe for ourselves, our clients and our shared community. We know that some of these adjustments can be trying and we sincerely appreciate your adherence to our protocols.
