Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a bodywork technique developed by doctors Emil and Estrid Vodder to support the function of the lymphatic system. This service is very different from other conventional massage modalities and focuses on light, skin stretching movements that do not work into muscular tissue. Lymphatic drainage assists in lymphangiomotion (the process by which lymphangions contract and move lymph fluid towards the lymph nodes for filtration) and encourages the lymphatic system to more efficiently collect fluid from the interstitium. Manual Lymphatic Drainage is especially helpful for clients dealing with post-traumatic and post surgical edema (often seen as an integral part of recovery from liposuction, BBL, and breast surgeries), autoimmune disorders, headaches, lymphedema, fibrocystic breast disease, migraines and pain.
